LAT Multilingual Supports TELUS Health’s “Stories for Caregivers” Campaign

In 2023, TELUS Health launched a heartwarming multimedia campaign called "Stories for Caregivers." This initiative aimed to increase awareness as well as offer support and encouragement to caregivers across the country. In 2018, more than 8 million Canadians were providing unpaid care for their loved ones, and this number is only expected to grow. (Source: Statistics Canada)

The campaign sought out impactful and compelling stories to evoke emotions and inspire a shift in perspective on caregiving. These stories could serve a multitude of purposes: entertain while imparting valuable knowledge, foster empathy for improved healthcare and social policies, and connect families and friends with available resources and support communities.

Eligible applicants had to be a Canadian-controlled and for-profit taxable corporation experienced in producing web series, as well as the owner and controller of all necessary rights to create, produce, distribute, and exploit the project for at least 5 years. As a first step, the selected applicants were required to submit a pilot episode in high definition.

The web series had to be in either English or French, or both, with caregiving themes woven prominently into the main storylines or subplots. Additionally, closed captioning in both languages along with described video, was mandatory for all submissions.

LAT Multilingual was approached by We Are Patio, an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Vancouver, to support them with the translation and adaptation of their web series and to ensure their campaign resonated with a French-Canadian audience. Thanks to the great collaborative work between We Are Patio and LAT’s Montreal office, the campaign was a success and LAT became a pre-approved trusted partner of TELUS Fund.
